The video transmitter (VTX) transmits a signal (5.8G)
The goggles receive the video signal

Digital Video
Why 5.8G?
Compact Antennas: Higher frequencies like 5.8 GHz have shorter wavelengths, which allow for smaller antennas (approx 1.3cm)
Low Latency - 5.8 GHz analog video has near-zero encoding/decoding delay (~1–5 ms total system latency)
Legal - Most countries (FCC/IC/CE) allow up to 25 mW (sometimes 200 mW) on 5.8 GHz without a license in most countries (ISM band).
Less Congestion: The 5.8 GHz band is less crowded than the 2.4 GHz band, which is commonly used for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and drone control signals. By using 5.8 GHz for video, FPV systems avoid interference with the drone's control link
Channel Availability - 5.8 GHz has 40+ channels (e.g., RaceBand, E-band) with 8–16 non-overlapping options.
Range - 5.8 GHz provides plenty of range with 25 mW since drone racing happens within a small area
In 5.8G FPV, there are Bands and Channels.
Unlike the radio link, these do not automatically switch over
You must manually change them on both drone and controller
We will be using Race Band (R)
RaceBand, is a carefully selected set of eight 5.8 GHz frequencies (e.g., 5658, 5695, 5732, 5769, 5806, 5843, 5880, 5917 MHz) spaced approximately 37 MHz apart.
This spacing reduces channel overlap and interference when multiple pilots are flying simultaneously, which is common in races where 4 may be in the air at once.
Output Power
25/100/200/400mw (milliwatts)
The higher the output, the further the distance you can go. However, this will generate heat and consume more energy.
In indoor situations, the strong signals will bounce off the floor, walls and ceilings and interfere with your own video.
It is important to ensure good airflow to prevent burning the video transmitter
We will be using 25mw!
25mw is great for indoor flying and racing with multiple drones in the air.
If one drone is using 100mw, it will interfere with the other pilots using 25mw.
This will cause them to have 'bad video' and crash even if its just for a split second.
Question: What does R : 2 : 200 signify below?
How do we set our video channels?
Note: Each time we plug the USB-C into the computer - we are powering on and transmitting video
1) We set video channels in betaflight
2) We check it - by plugging the drone in and checking in the goggles
3) Unplug before the drone overheats!
1) Lets try to change our channel
2) Let match our goggles to the corresponding channel
