shrink % = (nominal − measured) ÷ nominal × 100 · scale = nominal ÷ measured
Measured = the mean of the per-axis minima. Typical linear shrink: PLA 0.2–0.5 %, PETG 0.2–0.4 %, ABS 0.6–0.8 %, ASA 0.5–0.7 %, Nylon 0.8–1.5 %.
On a 40 mm part, 0.3 % shrink is 0.12 mm — the same size as the caliper error and the seam bead. Need a trustworthy shrink constant? Measure a 100 mm+ test bar and scale both parts by the same factor.
